Surprise. Japanese visual kei group Luzmelt will be making their US debut at this year's Tekkoshocon! With a stunning stage presence and a sound that ranges from industrial to melodic, this is an act you won't want to miss. Check out their Myspace for sound clips and a video sample!

Try their myspace.
Kinda don't use myspace too much anymore but I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the heads up that they have a page.

Just listened to them -- They moved from that "never heard of them before" to the "I MUST SEE THEM LIVE!" in the amount of time that their song Jishoku finished. On top of their myspace, their OHP is http://www.luzmelt.com/Not only will Tekko be 4 days, but it will go down in history for this year's musical guests *excited*

that is our goal. To build the reputation for being THE con to go to for music. we have a way to go, but we WILL get there and be the place everyone wants to go to for the best music.

I have some serious doubts that you will find the DLLCC the most ideal venue for concerts of any considerable size. To hope that we become THE MUSIC CON would probably require partnering with a facility of a larger single show capacity and the staff to handle it. Currently this seems to have the potential for some public safety issues. Growth is usually nice as long as it remains balanced. Our reputation as a GOOD con should take precedence over being THE con. With proper planning I see growth but with too aggresive of an approach I see failure.

Our reputation as a GOOD con should take precedence over being THE con. With proper planning I see growth but with too aggresive of an approach I see failure. A few fun facts: 1) We know all about the accoustics issues in using the DLLCC, however, the sound engineer we are contracted with was the original sound designer for the DLLCC. Outside of doing the work for the center, our engineer has worked for some of the bigges names in rock and roll (Seriously, his resume is incredible.) If anyone can make that place sing, it'll be him. 2) We, of all people, understand about making a good con. It is our belief that if you make a good con, the awesome sort of takes care of itself. Another thing we discovered a while ago; Part of establishing yourself as a good convention anymore is having an identity. we are currently walking down the path to be the place to come for concerts. We are doing that in several ways, including making as sure as we can that those P.S. issues you mentioned either don't come up or are handled appropriately. I can say from personal experience that we take the safety and happiness of our general attendees very seriously. Now, onto other venues. Yes, we have looked into securing other venues. We really couldn't do that this year, but we are looking into it for further down the line. 'Course, with the aforementioned sound guy, and with our guest relations people finding incredible bands as they have, I think we are off to a pretty good start.

I think you are missing the point of the comment. "We have a way to go" that isn't a now thing. I wish I could tell you what almost happened for this year, but it jeopardises the future. That would have been an uncontrolled growth situation. Most commercial shows can work in the DLLCC, with the right amount of money thrown at the tech. This has been proven. I can say that the system for handling the growth and changes in PS are already being implemented. The thing is, that's all behind the scenes things that the average guest doesn't need to concern themselves with. In todays day and age you have to be THE con with something to continue to grow and be profitable. If you aren't THE something there is nothing to make you unique in todays convention circuit. Look at it this way, you have Walmart, KMart, and mom and pop store. Walmart is the biggest and most popular, KMart is second, mom and pop has no reputation in the national market. While you and I may go to "Mom and Pop" but without something special no one outside of the local shoppers will go there, and if a Walmart were to move into that community "mom and pop" would close because it cannot compete. I remember before Walmart was in Pittsburgh and going to West Virginia just to shop at one because they were so amazing at the time. (EMPHASIZE AT THE TIME, NOTHING COMARABLE EXISTED IN da'burgh) We are on a course to be a few "THE" con. They are markets that other cons either screw up or don't go into. Will we grow to be Otakon, AB, Sakura, AX, or NYAF size? Not any time soon, they are the Walmarts of the convention and unless you are truly special people will always go there because the name has a reputation, just like Walmart, K Mart, Target, Barnes & Noble, etc. It doesn't matter if they have the best product or the worst product their name carries them. Tekko doesn't have a name like that yet, it is a few years away.

Maybe you could tell us during closing ceremonies? It would surely be better than the "This is the end..." gag you pulled last year.

I wish I could, but we are still working on that project for next year. The "This is the end..." gag really wasn't a gag. Come to "True Tales of Con Horror" Friday night of the show. I promise to tell the whole story about that closing ceremonies. Plus, I'll tell the story of the melocalypse. Of the 18+ panels this is the one to be at. The guests tell funny stories and some of the staff tell stories of con past. Yes, I'm pimping Prager's panel. But it is in eitheron Main Stage or Second Stage this year. Main Stage is the official name of "Main Events" Secon Stage is what was called "Main 2" Now that we are close to the show, I don't feel bad about leaking things

I was on the verge of tears. I'll definitely be at Prager's panel. I never miss it.

I agree that "The True Tales of Con Horror" is one of the best panels out there and has some of the greatest stories and behind the scenes tales that I've heard. I hate to miss that panel and love every second of it.
